The prime example is Lisa Wooding, Ladies Captain and England International, a high profile sportswoman in Essex, recently enjoying extensive media publicity throughout the County (many press cuttings and articles supplied on request). In between her playing and training commitments for club and country, Lisa also coaches youngsters as part of her regular schedule. Given her marketability, Lisa is ready to participate in a publicity campaign organised by the sponsor. The use of the car would be over twelve months, preferably with a three year agreement. A possible cost-effective solution A feature of modern car ownership is the lease arrangement where the buyer pays a monthly lease, usually over a three year period, and either buys the car at the end of the lease or returns in to the garage. CHC is not seeking a new car – rather it believes it would be a more reasonable arrangement to use good-quality second hand cars coming off a three year lease. It is more cost effective for the franchise, but sacrifices little in performance for the user of the car. What the Club can offer Depending on the intrinsic value of the package offered, Chelmsford Hockey Club can offer a custom-made package which can include a Gold pitch-side advertisement board on the new world-class astro-turf pitch at Chelmer Park, a full page advertisement in all programmes published for all matches and tournaments at the Chelmsford Hockey Centre (including internationals, national and regional tournaments), a website advertisement on the Club’s home page (with hyperlink to the sponsor’s site), plus other arrangements, such as a sponsor’s day. In addition, the Club has use of a banner advertisement at the foot of the hockey section in the sports pages of the Essex Chronicle throughout the season. Here, our main sponsors are permitted to put their name/logo and contact information and this facility could form part of the package. Another option would be an advertisement on the Club’s dedicated page on the Fixtures Live sports results website, www.fixs.co.uk. Further possibilities may also arise through England Hockey. Finally, as mentioned above, Lisa Wooding is ready to provide personal endorsement and make herself available for photo opportunities a few times a year. The sponsor would, in effect, become Lisa’s personal sponsor, with their logo appearing alongside her photo in the Player’s profiles in the Ladies’ match programmes as well. The next step These requirements are immediate and ideally need to be put in place as soon as possible. If this is a sponsorship package that has appeal, the next step would be to arrange a meeting to customise the package to suit everyone’s requirements, nail down an agreement and set all the necessary wheels in motion to get everything up and running.
