Zevenbergen 2009 Report
Kitted with our B-E-A-U-T orange hoodies, Chelmsford Hockey club set off to Holland. It was an eventful weekend, where hockey was played continuously, Dutch friends were made and pictures were taken. There were showers, even though there were rumours that there would be none and we would stink of sweat for 3 days. On the coach back home, everyone was dog tired, but happy because it had been one of the best hockey tours yet.
Katie, Pru, Martha and Jess were the only girls on the tour. They have kindly answered some questions regarding the trip.
Would you go again?
Pru: Yes, I would
Katie: Of course
Martha: Yes
Jess: Yup
What was the most embarrassing bit?
Pru: When the boys took mine and Martha’s underwear and hung them all over our tent.
Katie: When I tried to jump over the fence and fell over it instead.
Martha: Same as Pru
Jess: When I stopped one of our goals going in and everyone was glaring at me apart from Pru, who found it hilarious
What was the funniest bit?
Pru: When Julian our coach said hi-5 to Elliott who had just scored, but Jess thought he meant her and ran over from the other side of the pitch and hi-5ed him instead. Everyone was like what is she doing?
Katie: In the evening when people were drunk.
Martha: There are too many times to chose one.
Jess: When Harry tried to crawl into our tent on the first night, but Pru screamed and threw a shoe at him.
What was the best bit?
Pru: All of it
Katie: All of it
Martha: All of it, it was the best weekend ever
Jess: When I tackled this really good person and everyone was like WOW.
Any improvements?
Pru: I dunno, to be warmer at night
Katie: To be warmer at night and to be camped nearly the toilet
Martha: Make it longer, not such early mornings
Jess: Same as Katie
What have you learnt?
Pru: Lecker, lecker, lecker, schnell, schnell, schnell
Katie: Orange is the colour of Holland. I know that thanks to our hoodies
Martha: to put a padlock on my suitcase and hide my underwear
Jess: Bollock is Dutch for sideline
How many goals did you score?
Pru: I don’t remember like millions
Katie: I don’t know
Martha: None, I’m a goalie
