You are in: Home >> Club Info >> Policies RecruitmentRecruiting playersOpen Day Players are recruited by means of holding a ‘Bring a Friend’ open day in October of each year. Local primary and secondary schools are then sent leaflets, a poster and the “Bring a Friend’ flyers by post or, more effectively, by hand. After the “Bring a Friend” day the new attendees are sent a follow-up letter with a ‘Special Offer’ introductory membership fee – typically a reduction of 25% on the annual subscription. This procedure should recruit up to 30 new players in the age range 6 to 16 each year. Club members who teach in schools Any PE teachers are asked to display the club poster, are given club leaflets and are asked to encourage their children to come along to training sessions. County coaching Existing coaches are encouraged to coach at the Player Development Centres. Recruiting volunteersParents Parents who show an interest in the sessions are invited to help on a casual basis. Senior club members Players (especially in the first teams) are encouraged to come along to the open day and to help with the coaching generally. If interest is shown they are invited to take Level 1. Coaching fee subsidy Volunteers who want to take a Level 2 award have 50% of the fee subsidised by the club. Strategy ResponsibilityThe Youth Committee is responsible for reviewing the recruitment strategy of players and volunteers. |
