In order to maintain these standards it is vital that parents take full responsibility, make a mutual commitment and play a full role together with the managers, coaching staff and adult members for maintaining this. Chelmsford Hockey Club adopts all the recommended health, safety and welfare guidelines from England Hockey. This includes:
All managers and coaches are expected to adhere to the principles and practices outlined in these documents. As part of their training, all managers and coaches should be given child protection awareness training. Copies of all of these policies are available from the Junior Coaching Co-ordinators at England Hockey or from http://www.englandhockey.co.uk. REPORTING PARENTAL CONCERNSIf at any time you have concerns about the health, safety or welfare of your child whilst s/he is involved with Chelmsford Hockey Club then you must report it immediately to the coaching staff. If you do not feel able to discuss it with the coaching staff then you may report it directly to the club’s Child Protection Officer. In accordance with the guidelines from England Hockey she is available to parents and will listen to them and then deal appropriately with reported concerns.
