CHELMSFORD HOCKEY CLUB
YOUTH SECTION
CHARITY 12 HOUR HOCKEY MARATHON

VENUE: Chelmer Park, Beehive Lane, Chelmsford
DATE: Friday 27th October 2006
TIME: 9am (8:30am arrival) to 9pm

Firstly a bit of back ground: When approaching business’s to help us financially, a question that often pops up is, “What do you do for yourselves?” The answer, until now, is nothing, apart from membership, subscriptions and match fees. We want to show everyone how serious we are about moving forward with our Club. As well as helping ourselves, we have decided to help two wonderful charities, namely Farleigh and Little Havens’ Hospices, by running a 12 hour sponsored hockey marathon.

We would like to think we can raise at least £10,000 and at the same time have some fun. Ask your friends, family and neighbours, get your parents to take the form to work. Adult members, with your work colleagues’ support, £100 should be no problem!

LET’S GO FOR IT AND RAISE THOUSANDS!!

As an added incentive to those who are already up for the challenge, the girl and boy who collect the most sponsorship will each receive £25.00 in Odeon vouchers whilst the adult who collects the most will win a meal for two at a local restaurant.

We hope the whole club, youth and adults alike, will pull together and give their full support to this venture, either by taking part, gathering as many sponsors as possible or helping on the day, to make this a proud & memorable event for us all.

½ pitch games will be played from 9am – 1pm, predominantly for our younger players (up to school year 6), but all ages are welcome to help them out on pitch! Full pitch game will be played from 1pm – 9pm. Once we have an idea of numbers we will produce and circulate a playing schedule.

To ensure this event runs safely and successfully, we will need a lot of practical help on the day: setting up, pitch management, umpires, managers, catering, first aid etc, etc. If you can assist, in any way, please indicate on the slip below (in the letter).

So let’s all join together to make this a truly fantastic event, and raise as much sponsorship money as we possibly can. Money collected should be returned by the end of November at the latest.
