Half Time: 2 - 4 / Full Time: 3 - 5 1st Half Goals: 2nd Half Goals: Cambrai went ahead early from a penalty corner, deflected in after the ball came off the stick of a masked Chloe Rogers on the goal line. This spurred Rogers on to lift a reverse stick shot in for 1-1 after 4 minutes of play. Cambrai went ahead again after the efforts of Estelle Devulder, but Chelmsford still looked the better side. A penalty corner strike from Lisa Wooding made it 2-2 and that was the turning point in the match for the Essex team, as another penalty corner was won. Wooding finally put Chelmsford ahead following a penalty corner with 11 minutes played. Rogers hit the post, but the Chelmer Park side never really felt safe and in control until Lynn Bollington, the captain slotted home. She finished off a Chloe Rogers shot, saved by the goal keeper with her pads, with 50 seconds of the first half remaining. 3 minutes into the second half and Bollington was called upon to take part in a bully, with Katy Roberts making some good stops. With 12 minutes left, a run by French forward, Gwenaelle Dutel, resulted in a save by Roberts and a clash with Chelmsford defender, Becky Alltree. Dutel pushed Alltree and was yellow carded for her trouble, protesting all the way off the pitch. Julia Butterworth came close with 9 minutes remaining and a penalty corner gave Lisa Wooding her hat-trick. Dutel pulled one back for the French side with 30 seconds remaining from a penalty corner, but it wasn't enough to defeat Chelmsford. Tomorrow's game with Dutch team, Kampong, will decide which side comes second in the pool. Chelmsford have 3 points and are second with 9 goals for, at the moment. Kampong are third with 3 points and 7 goals for. Chelmsford defender, Becky Alltree, says it's taken the side a bit of time to get going: "It's getting better. It was like this when we started playing in Europe, we tended to get caught in the headlights a bit. It took us the first game to get stuck in and understand what the pace is like at this standard." Alltree says that the incident with the French player being sent off was the correct decision by the Umpire: "She attacked our goal keeper with the ball, and Katy had the ball between her legs. So, I reached down to pick it up and she pushed me and started saying things in a different language. I just smiled and kept my cool. We're really excited about tomorrow's match with the Dutch. They have not done as well as expected and we've got a good chance against them."
